Why do startups get office space instead of working from home?

Even though some of the world’s most successful firms were started in a garage or home office, they are rarely the company’s permanent headquarters. Taking conference calls as your neighbor’s lawnmower hums in the background may feel exciting for a time, but as your business grows, it becomes clear that you need more help and support if you want to take it to the next level.  Here are four reasons why you should begin your search for new office space if you’re still undecided.

Talent is attracted to a specific location if it has its own designated area

Traditional office space may not be the best solution for your company, but coworking spaces provide a shared workspace where your staff can at the very least meet in one location. When you’ve gained traction and need to expand your crew, having a facility outside of your house or a coffee shop gives your startup a more professional appearance.

If you want to hire the best, imagine yourself in their shoes, because it is a competitive process. Imagining going through an interview process with an organization that lacks adequate facilities for meeting with clients or answering phone calls might give you a different perspective.

In the early phases of your firm, the idea of starting from scratch may be intriguing, but if you’re searching for seasoned or experienced people, they’ll have several options. Even if your local coffee shop offers free internet, your company won’t be able to take over Starbucks every day.

Connectivity and teamwork can be fostered in your workplace

Do-it-all attitude and willingness to put in the long hours are essential for success at a startup. While it’s critical to maintain a minimal and bootstrapped infrastructure, the lack of a centralized location for employees to congregate can lead to decreased productivity, less teamwork, and decreased innovation.

There has been significant progress in the tools that allow teams to connect seamlessly, but nothing can replace the ability of your team to communicate in person.

A team that has a strong sense of belonging and camaraderie is more likely to succeed when it has its own place to work in. Having the opportunity to collaborate with other startups in a coworking space might lead to new ideas and partnerships.

Networking is made easier at a coworking space

A lot of coworking spaces are making their mark on the startup scene by offering events like seminars, panels, and other educational programs. Startup-oriented coworking spaces and offices have a better grasp of the local investor community as well as other groups that could aid your business in moving forward.

While your firm can attend meetings without being a member of a co-working space, being a part of one gives you access to resources that benefit your entire staff and gives you a way to continue learning and growing. Coworking spaces also allow you to host events that might help spread the word about your firm among the members.

Office space : Work/life balance can be improved with a designated area

A healthy diet might be encouraged when your team quits wearing sweatpants for work and sales calls. Working from home and having access to healthy food in the kitchen can have a significant impact on your startup team’s daily well-being.

If you don’t want to cope with the incessant droning of coffee beans and blenders, you can do what you need to in the privacy of your own home or office.

Your startup’s workplace is an investment, but the return on your investment in terms of overall team satisfaction can make all the difference on the long road to establishing your startup.
