Coworking : What are the consequences of Covid-19 ? How to manage its containment and what are the telecommuting habits to adopt when you have an office in Luxembourg?
Logically enough, the governments of the different countries have decided to set up a containment in order to stop the spread of the Coronavirus. A strong action which is not without repercussions since the economic activity of companies as well as our lives will be totally disrupted.
But what about coworking spaces? These work spaces that promote exchanges, sharing, communication, living together. So many qualities in normal times that can become dangerous in times of epidemic. That’s why some people make the right decision to abandon their open offices to work from home, respecting the government’s recommendations.
The Color Business Center has decided to give you some advice on how to manage your confinement and approach telecommuting in an optimal way.
1. Organize your workspace
Not everyone has a big house with a nice office that is as good as the one in their open space.
A simple table with a comfortable seat perfectly adjusted will do the trick. Avoid working from your couch, you risk keeping this bad habit unproductive.
2. Adopt the right attitude
To keep your mind at ease and work at your best, put yourself in the right conditions:
- Take a shower
- Get dressed and don’t stay in your pajamas
- Put on shoes instead of slippers
This will give you a more professional attitude that will help you focus.
3. Keep your family informed of the situation
Especially if you have small children, it will save you from being disturbed. It is difficult to understand why mom or dad is not available when he/she is at home and not at his/her office in Luxembourg.
4. Keep the same habits as at your workstation in Luxembourg.
To familiarize yourself with telecommuting, there is nothing like copying your daily rituals:
- Set the same time frame as usual
- Coffee breaks
- Lunch break
5. Communicate
Need a file? Advice from a colleague? Want to know how your partner is doing?
There are many ways to get out of this loneliness. Fortunately, there are many tools at your disposal:
- Telephone
- Instant messaging
- Web conferencing
6. Don’t forget the safety gestures
- Wash your hands
- Cough and sneeze into your elbow
- Greet without kissing or shaking hands
